Walk into any school in the world and ask students to name a famous mathematician, and they would definitely name Pythagoras.

Pythagoreans believed that the universe could be described purely by numbers. While Pythagoras’ actual historical achievements are often shrouded in myth, his work is fondly remembered for the scientific and mathematical revolution it set in motion.
